FUSED GLASS AND METALS WORKSHOP

HALF DAY COURSE

Saturday 22nd April
10am-1pm or 2pm-5pm

During this half day workshop you will make either a set of coasters, a medium size dish or a wall hanger. Using either copper foil, wire and gold or silver leaf. Your design will be layered between glass and then fired.

Jane will demonstrate how safely use the tools and equipment to cut the glass and foils, then it’s over to you to design and create your own pieces.
Groups are limited to 6 people max and is suitable for complete beginners but more experienced fusers are very welcome.

Your pieces will need to fired over night, but will be available for collection a few days after the course. Or they can be posted for a small additional postage fee.

The class is made even more enjoyable simply by the setting. The Glass Quarter Designs studio is well equipped, and has an inspiring, creative atmosphere and of course is based at the wonderful Red House Glass Cone. You could have lunch sitting by the canal or try our on site cafe. Take a walk around the beautiful historic building and visit the numerous other craft studios on site.

All materials and tools will be provided. No previous knowledge required. Please ensure you wear fully closed shoes and practical clothing.

FUSED GLASS BIRD WORKSHOP

HALF DAY COURSE

During this workshop you will learn how to cut and layer glass to create a beautiful fused glass bird hanger. It is a course suitable for both beginners and more experienced fusers.
Charlotte will demonstrate how to use the tools and equipment safely. How to cut glass and different techniques of glass fusing that can be used to create a more intricate design. From eagles to hummingbirds, let your imagination fly!

VINTAGE CHINA AND GLASS MOSAIC BIRD

HALF DAY COURSE

GLASS-MOSAIC-BIRD

During this half day workshop, you will make a beautiful bird hanger using vintage crockery pieces and glass with various effects.

Sarah will demonstrate how to safely use the tools and equipment, to cut and shape the crockery and glass. Then you can pick the colours and design the hanger. Sarah will talk you through the mosaicing process from designing, arranging, gluing and grouting.

Jewellery Workshop Day

Josephine will introduce you to the art of handcrafted jewellery making, using traditional techniques. You can learn at your own pace in a friendly and relaxed environment.

This jewellery workshop is a fantastic opportunity to try a new craft. In this class you will learn how to use traditional tools and jewellery making techniques. During the 6 hours you will firstly choose your design from a variety of samples, you will then be taken through the jewellery making process step by step until you have a beautiful, professional looking piece of silver jewellery to take home with you.

All materials, tools and equipment are provided, as well as refreshments. There will be a 30 minute break for lunch where you could visit our onsite cafe or bring your own lunch and sit by the canal.

This workshop usually runs on Saturdays & Wednesdays from 10-4pm, but days and dates are flexible upon request. Once the workshop has been purchased the artist will get in touch with you to arrange a date that suits. Unless it is a gift experience then a gift card will be sent out to you. Inside will be a website address for the gift recipient to follow detailing the course and the artists contact details. They can then contact the artist themselves to make arrangements.

This workshop is a perfect experience to share with friends and family and would make a fantastic gift for a creative loved one. You can choose this gift option from the drop down menu.
