This is a brilliant contemporary glass course taught by glass artist Charlotte H Martin using techniques that are a couple of millennia old! The fantastic glass pieces you create will not fade or alter over time. They will be kiln fired so permanently beautiful for the next 1000 years (just don’t drop it!)
During the workshop you will learn an array of different paint application techniques. You will use our own method of glass painting, which gives a beautifully, subtle and three dimensional effect to the glass, you will also learn how to design your piece and cut glass safely (don’t worry if you are nerves about this Charlotte is on hand to help).
All you need to bring is yourself and your enthusiasm! Though any pictures or subject material can be gladly incorporated into your work.
This workshop is a perfect experience to share with friends and family and would make a fantastic gift for a creative loved one.
The class is made especially enjoyable by the setting; inside the grounds of the historic Red House Glass Cone. You could have lunch sitting by the canal or try our on site cafe. Take a walk around the beautiful historic building and visit the numerous other craft studios on site. Why not bring friends / family and make a day of it!
All materials and tools will be provided. No previous knowledge required. Please ensure you wear fully closed shoes and practical clothing.
