Glass Quarter Designs Ltd, Studio 14, Red House Glass Cone. DY8 4AZ
This workshop is great introduction to glass bead making (also known as lampwork). Glass artist Sarah Cordingley will take you through a variety of fun bead making techniques such as spots, twists and the use of glass frits then it’s over to you to have a go.
Your beads will be annealed in the kiln overnight, Sarah will then make them into bracelets or necklaces for you to collect the following week or we can post them to you for a small fee. Torch time is available at an hourly rate once you’ve graduated!
The class is made especially enjoyable by the setting; inside the grounds of the historic Red House Glass Cone. You could have lunch sitting by the canal or try our on site cafe. Take a walk around the beautiful historic building and visit the numerous other craft studios on site. Why not bring friends / family and make a day of it!
All materials and tools will be provided. No previous knowledge required. Please ensure you wear fully closed shoes and practical clothing.
