During this half day workshop, you will make your own house number sign using vintage crockery pieces and glass with various effects.

Sarah will demonstrate how to safely use the tools and equipment, to cut and shape the crockery and glass. Then you can pick the colours and design the sign. Sarah will talk you through the mosaicing process from designing, arranging, gluing and grouting.

The courses are held at Glass Quarter Designs, Studio 14 on the site of the Red House Glass Cone, near Stourbridge in the heart of the Glass Quarter. You can spend some time looking around the site, glass blowing demonstrations are held weekend afternoons. There is also a coffee shop on site but tea and coffee will be provided.

Tis’ the season to be crafting! Come join Sarah and start getting into the spirit with some Christmas themed mosaic classes. Whether you want to learn a new skill, or use the skills you have already developed; come along and make some fab Christmas decorations.

The class is made even more enjoyable simply by the setting inside the grounds of the wonderful Red House Glass Cone. You could have lunch sitting by the canal or try our on site cafe. Take a walk around the beautiful historic building and visit the numerous other craft studios on site.

All materials and tools will be provided. No previous knowledge required. Please ensure you wear fully closed shoes and practical clothing.

Fused Glass Jewellery Workshop

Fused glass jewellery is beautiful to wear and fun to make! It’s a fantastic way to have a play with glass fusing. With all the different colours and forms of glass available to you as well as metals, you are sure to make some fantastic wearable jewellery.

You will be able to make a few pendants and earring during the session, and choose from a variety of  ways for the final assembly of your pieces. Holes drilled and the findings for 3 necklaces and a pair of earrings will be provided but more options are available for a small extra charge.

Come with friends or make some new ones during this fun workshop, suitable for all.

You will be shown how to safely use the tools and equipment and then it’s over to you (along with help and advice along the way) to turn your ideas into jewellery.

Blow your own glass bowl

 Want to have a go at glass blowing? This course is a great introduction to the art. In a small group of 6 people, you will be shown how to correctly and safely handle hot glass. You will learn the techniques for creating a bowl to be proud of and use year after year or to give as a gift. Craft a lasting memory in glass via a creative process that has been passed down since the time of the Ancient Phoenicians.

With expert tuition from glass artist Charlotte Hughes Martin, you will make your very own hand blown glass bud vase. Maybe invite some friends or family to join you and make a nice day of it? The class is made even more enjoyable simply by the setting inside the wonderful Red House Glass Cone. You could have lunch sitting by the canal or try our on site cafe. Take a walk around the beautiful historic building and visit the numerous other craft studios on site.

Make Your Own Crystal Paperweight

Join this workshop and leave having made your very own lead crystal paperweight. In a small group of 6 people, you will be shown how to correctly and safely handle hot glass. You will learn the techniques for creating a glass paper weight, adding colour, bubbles and swirls in your design.
