You will learn the techniques for creating a bowl to be proud of and use year after year or to give as a gift. Craft a lasting memory in glass via a creative process that has been passed down since the time of the Ancient Phoenicians.

With expert tuition from glass artist Charlotte Hughes Martin, you will make your very own hand blown glass bud vase. Maybe invite some friends or family to join you and make a nice day of it? The class is made even more enjoyable simply by the setting inside the wonderful Red House Glass Cone. Festive Fusing Workshop

Christmas Decorations – The session will be spent making lovely fused glass Christmas decorations while getting into the spirit of things.

Full Day Mosaic Picture Workshop

2nd June: 10am – 5pm

During this full day workshop, you will make your own beautiful mosaic framed picture using vintage crockery pieces and glass with various effects.

We will look at some ideas and design your work of art or you can come with an idea and Sarah will help you achieve it.

​Sarah will demonstrate how to safely use the tools and equipment, to cut and shape the crockery and glass. Then you can pick the colours and design the sign. Sarah will talk you through the mosaicking process of designing, arranging, gluing and grouting.

​The courses are held at Glass Quarter Designs, Studio 14 on the site of the Red House Glass Cone, near Stourbridge in the heart of the Glass Quarter. Fused glass jewellery is beautiful to wear and fun to make! It’s a fantastic way to have a play with glass fusing. With all the different colours and forms of glass available to you as well as metals, you are sure to make some fantastic wearable jewellery.

You will be able to make a few pendants and earring during the session, and choose from a variety of  ways for the final assembly of your pieces. Holes drilled and the findings for 3 necklaces and a pair of earrings will be provided but more options are available for a small extra charge.

Come with friends or make some new ones during this fun workshop, suitable for all.

Feel like being creative with your glass fusing? Then this is the workshop for you. Come and make a beautiful fused glass picture. Whether you have had a go at fusing before or are an adventurous beginner, this workshop is a great way to learn a variety of glass fusing techniques.

In the morning session we will discuss and design your ideas, create the background using glass powders frits and metals. Later we will use a variety of glass colours, equipment and  techniques including lampwork torches, to bring your pictures to life.
